Retirees have received their notice in the mail about their new level of benefits for the coming year. The open enrollment process will begin in the next month or so and hopefully, more information will be included in that material.
However, it is clear that non-medicare retirees will be paying a portion of the cost of the policy from here on. Another is the drug plan is going to cost a lot more than it has in the past. Higher deductible and co-pays are going to bring sticker shock to some retirees for sure.
It has been offered to the retirees to have a meeting prior to the close of open enrollment to see what questions they have so we can get answers for you. Please go to the message board (link on main page) and let us know if you would like to have and woujld attend such a meeting.
As our retirees know, the company has refused to have any discussion on retiree issues at the bargaining table.

Retirees have been receiving the plan documents on the "new" benefits that AT&T has decided we are entitled to. I am sure that most of you are in as much of an iritated state as I am in looking in particular at the prescription shaft that we have received. Open enrollment for the retirees will begin early next month so be on the look out for them. You need to chose wisely based on pre or post medicare as it can make a lot of difference to you. There has been no interest in having a meeting to discuss options and other issues in the new plan.
It should be like most enrollments in that if you do not chose anything you should remain as you were. However, read all the material and make sure that is the case. If you have any questions feel free to contact the local.
